A Personal Message From Specialist Physiotherapist Wendy McCloud,

Pilates is recognised worldwide for it’s benefits of restoring the balance of your body, correcting posture, toning up weak muscles and helping your spine move well and be supported in all it does.

WDC Pilates will help you strengthen your muscles and improve your mobility by teaching your body how to move well again which will help reduce any aches and pains you may have. Pilates will also help prevent flare ups of problems such as low back pain, neck pain, as well as aiding in the recovery and recurrence of upper and lower limb injuries such as shoulder, hip and knee pain.

W.D.C. Physiotherapy follows the Australian Physiotherapy & Pilates Institute (APPI) method which is designed by physiotherapists specifically for use in the rehabilitation setting. With the APPI method traditional Pilates exercises are broken down and modified to help you if you are struggling with aches and pains, stiffness and reduced mobility.

Our classes are also suitable for those who want to do Pilates for their general health and fitness and want to remain active. We are the perfect fit for you if:

You are looking for a Pilates class that doesn’t have 20-30 people in it.
You want a class where you are checked that you are doing the exercises correctly.
Fed up of going to a class where the instructor just teaches from the front and doesn’t leave their mat.
Want to look and feel better from doing a Pilates Class
Want an hour of “ME” time
Want to meet like minded people who value their health
Want to get stronger and more flexible

“Look Who Else Came For Specialist Pilates At WDC Physiotherapy And Now Feel More ACTIVE, HEALTHY And HAPPY…”

All of our classes are unique in that they are all taught by our expert Therapy Team who have trained in Pilates.

Beth, Claire, Jack, Veronica & Yasmine teach our classes and you will get to meet them all at some point. Being taught by medical professionals you will know that you are in safe hands as they all have expert knowledge in injuries and how to get you back to being active and healthy again. They will be able to give you expert advice about any concerns you may have about an injury or pain condition you may be suffering.

If you are struggling with back aches and stiffness and it’s not getting any better. We often develop back pain as we get stiff in our spines and hips from sitting and bending too much.
You are experiencing stiffness in your neck with or without headaches and or shoulder pain after sitting at a computer, after reading a book or driving long distances.
You have been told you have or you have a sneaky suspicion you have arthritis, joint wear and tear or degeneration.
You don’t fancy the “painkillers and rest” option advised by the GP, nor do you like the generic exercises so often given out by the NHS Physios.
You value the enjoyment you get from your health too highly to risk suffering any long term complications, and so you want to seek the best advice possible, straight away.
You want to stay fit, active and mobile and you want to do that safely.
…Great news – if you can say “YES” to any of the above, then we are going to be able to help you like you hope.

If that sounds like something you’d be interested in, then start by making a simple and no hassle or obligation to proceed, enquiry about cost and soonest availability. Do that when you press the gold button here and then fill out the short form which will appear:

Or, because you know that what we are offering is what you came looking for – make it all happen sooner and book an “in-person” Pilates 1:1 Taster appointment at my Physio Practice using this number 01702 613542. Our Specialist Pilates Studio is in Southend-on-Sea.

Or, If You’d Prefer, Because You’d Find It Easier, We’ll Find 10 Minutes In Our Day And We’ll Easily Be Able To Show You What To Do For The Best, Simply By Talking On The Phone…

“Telephone Consultations work great”!

You’ll LOVE what they can do for you and you’ll soon see that WE CAN help you.

If you ARE serious about your health and wellness and you’ve decided enough is enough of being frustrated and tormented by daily aches, pains and stiffness, and you’re even SOMEWHAT interested in what Specialist Pilates sessions can do for you, then a good place for us to start is by talking on the phone.

And when we do we can show you:

What makes our Pilates classes DIFFERENT from all the other options you have got.
Why, if you are 40+ and like to stay active and FED up of feeling less mobile than you used to be and are not happy to settle for the option of rest and painkillers, offered to you by your GP that we could be your best option.
Why what we will do for you here at WDC Pilates is nothing like the Pilates classes you have been to before.
Why most people who are sceptical about Pilates and how it can help them end up LOVING what we do for them.
A chat on the phone first works really well as it gives you and us a chance to see if we are a good fit for each other. If you are worried about aches and pains or an injury you are struggling to get over and wonder if Pilates can help you having a telephone appointment first is perfect as we will be able to tell you if Pilates is right for you or whether we need to see you for a FREE Discovery Visit first.

Either way there is no obligation to book an appointment with us. We leave this up to you to decide if you like tithe sound of what we can offer you.

This option is easy and is the place most people choose to start their journey back to health. If you want to join them then please go ahead and click the gold button below NOW and fill out the short form that will appear (after that, Dawn, Tom or Sarah from my office will call you back very soon to set up a time for us to talk on the phone)…

“I was going to the gym and was getting back problems.

I started with very very bad posture and I am an anxiety sufferer.

There were small changes to begin with which was very encouraging. I found it a very calming and happy environment which helped with my anxiety and that helped with my physical being and the small changes have over a period of time become very big positive changes that have helped me in so many ways.”

Lindsay, 48, Thorpe Bay

“When I came I was round shouldered, I had neck pain and various other aches and pains that you associate with getting older.

I am now an inch taller as my posture is so much better which is all from coming here.

If I get an ache or pain it will be here rather than the doctors that I will go to first. I have such confidence I am being looked after”

Louise, 60, Great Wakering

I had my first class last Monday. The team are lovely, very friendly and very knowledgeable. I was made to feel at ease and the instructor went round the class frequently to assist or correct positions. Looking forward to my next class. I would recommend WDC Pilates without hesitation.

Sharon Thornton, Southend-on-Sea

Having recently taken up Pilates I find the exercise regime has strengthened my shoulder muscles and upper body that have suffered after many years of hairdressing so much that I now have no pain from a previous repetative strain injury, which in turn has helped my posture and golf swing. I would strongly recommend the Pilates sessions with Wendy McCloud to anyone who wishes to benefit from this excellent form of exercise.

Sue Knowles, Thorpe Bay

Pilates has made all the difference to me. I’ve always been athletic, danced, played badminton, swum and done yoga. I have developed arthritis over the last three years and started to find difficulty getting out of my bath. I started coming the Pilates at WDC two years ago which has strengthened my core muscles. This has allowed me to be able to exit my bath with ease and confidence.

Pilates has given me not only the physical strength but the technique and knowledge of my skeletal and muscular make up. All under the unique knowledgeable attention one receives at Wendy’s classes.

Pam Tookey, Southend
